Seed Reveal

Seed Reveal is the process in provably fair gambling where the cryptographic seeds used to generate a game’s outcome are disclosed to players, allowing them to independently verify that results were not manipulated.

In crash games, every round’s multiplier is determined before the round begins using a combination of values: a server seed (generated by the casino), a client seed (often contributed by the player or browser), and sometimes a public blockchain hash. These inputs are fed into a hashing algorithm to produce the crash point. The casino commits to the server seed in advance by publishing its hashed form — a fixed fingerprint of the value — before the round starts. Because the hash is public, the casino cannot change the seed after the fact without detection.

The seed reveal happens after a round — or after a full seed rotation cycle — when the casino publishes the original unhashed server seed. At that point, players can take the revealed seed, the client seed, and the hashing formula, run the calculation themselves, and confirm the crash multiplier matches what was shown in the game. This is the core mechanic behind provably fair systems: trust is replaced by open verification. Games like Pigaboom implement this approach, giving players a transparent audit trail for every round.

It is worth understanding what a seed reveal does not guarantee. Verification confirms a result was generated consistently with the committed seed — it does not mean the house edge is removed or that future outcomes are predictable. The RNG outcome is still random within the provably fair framework; you are simply confirming the casino played by its own stated rules. For example, if a round crashed at 1.43×, you can verify that multiplier matches the seed combination — but you cannot use that information to predict the next round’s result.

  • Server seed: Casino-generated value, hashed before the round.
  • Client seed: Player-side value that adds external randomness.
  • Reveal: Unhashed server seed published post-round for verification.
