On-Ramp

Ethan Reeves · 2026-08-24 · 5 min read

On-ramp (also written as on-ramp or crypto on-ramp) is a service or process that converts traditional fiat currency — such as USD, EUR, or GBP — into cryptocurrency, allowing users to enter the crypto ecosystem for the first time.

For players new to crash gambling, the on-ramp is typically the first practical step before depositing at a crypto casino. Most crash platforms accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, or stablecoins like USDT, but they do not accept credit cards or bank transfers directly. An on-ramp bridges that gap. Common on-ramp methods include centralized exchanges (Coinbase, Kraken, Binance), peer-to-peer platforms, and built-in payment processors that some casinos embed directly into their deposit flow. The latter is sometimes called an integrated on-ramp, letting you buy crypto and deposit in a single session without leaving the site.

The cost of using an on-ramp matters. Every service charges a conversion fee — typically between 1% and 4% of the transaction — plus any network (gas) fees when the crypto is transferred to your wallet or casino account. These costs reduce your effective starting bankroll before you place a single bet in a crash game. For example, if you convert $200 to Bitcoin through a service charging a 2.5% fee, you receive the equivalent of roughly $195 in BTC. That $5 difference is gone regardless of how the multiplier lands.

Speed is another variable. Bank-linked on-ramps can take one to three business days to clear, while debit card purchases are often instant but carry higher fees. If you plan to fund a crash session quickly, choosing a faster on-ramp method — even at a slightly higher fee — may be worth the trade-off. Always verify that the cryptocurrency you purchase is supported by your chosen crash platform before completing the conversion, as sending an unsupported token can result in permanent loss of funds.

  • Fiat-to-crypto conversion — the core function of any on-ramp
  • Fees — typically 1–4%; always check before converting
  • Speed — ranges from instant (debit card) to several business days (bank transfer)
  • Supported coins — confirm the casino accepts your chosen crypto before buying
