NGR

Net Gaming Revenue (NGR) is the actual revenue a gambling operator retains after deducting bonuses, promotions, and player winnings from gross gaming revenue (GGR).

To understand NGR, start with the basics. A crash gambling site collects all wagers placed — that total is GGR. From that figure, the operator subtracts everything paid back to players as winnings, plus the cost of bonuses such as free bets, deposit matches, and cashback offers. What remains is NGR. It represents the true income the platform keeps before taxes and operating costs are applied.

The formula looks like this: NGR = GGR − Bonuses − Promotions − Jackpot contributions. For a concrete example: if a crash game site generates $500,000 in gross wagers in a month, pays out $450,000 in winnings, and distributes $20,000 in bonus credits, the NGR is $30,000. That $30,000 is what the operator actually earned from the activity.

As a player, NGR matters to you in a few indirect but important ways. Operators closely track NGR per player to decide how much to invest in loyalty rewards, VIP tiers, and promotional budgets. A player who generates healthy NGR for the platform is more likely to receive reload bonuses, higher withdrawal limits, or dedicated account management. Conversely, platforms with thin NGR margins may tighten bonus terms or reduce promotional frequency to protect profitability.

NGR also shapes the affiliate and partnership ecosystem around crash gambling. Affiliates who refer players to a site are often paid a percentage of the NGR those players generate — meaning affiliate incentives are tied directly to how much the house retains, not how much is wagered. This structure influences which games and platforms get promoted most heavily across review sites and communities.

Understanding NGR gives you a clearer picture of how crash gambling platforms are actually funded — and why bonus terms, wagering requirements, and promotional offers are structured the way they are.
